1. Introduction

Verdle is a word puzzle platform operated by Jedcal LLC. By accessing or using Verdle, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the service.

2. Service Description

Verdle provides a word puzzle platform with both free and premium subscription features. Free users have access to daily puzzles, basic gameplay, and a limited number of custom Verdle creations. Premium subscribers ("Pro" users) enjoy unlimited Verdle creation and additional features. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service with reasonable notice.

3. Accounts

Creating an account allows you to save progress and access additional features. Free accounts have limited Verdle creation capabilities. Pro accounts ($1.99/month) provide unlimited Verdle creation and enhanced features. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.

4. Email Communications

By creating an account or providing your email, you consent to receive service-related and promotional emails. You may unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in the email or contacting us at playverdle@gmail.com. Service-related emails necessary for your account cannot be opted out of.

5. Subscription Terms

Free Tier: Includes access to daily puzzles and unlimited Verdle creation with a 24-hour cooldown between creations.

Pro Subscription ($1.99/month): Includes unlimited Verdle creation with no cooldown, ad-free experience, and all free tier features.

Billing: Subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe, our payment processor. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges to your payment method. You agree to pay all applicable fees and taxes.

Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through the dashboard. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain Pro access until the end of your paid period.

Refunds: We generally do not offer refunds for partial months. Refunds may be provided at our discretion or as required by law.

Price Changes: We may change subscription prices with 30 days notice. Continuing your subscription after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.

6. Fair Use Policy

Pro subscribers may create Verdles for reasonable personal use. Excessive usage that impacts service performance or appears automated may result in temporary limits or account suspension.

We reserve the right to impose reasonable limits on any account to ensure service quality for all users and to protect against abuse of our platform.

7. Third-Party Advertising

Free accounts may be shown advertisements through third-party ad networks such as Google Ads. These ads help support our free tier and may be targeted based on non-personally identifiable information, as outlined in our Privacy Policy. Pro subscribers ($1.99/month) enjoy an ad-free experience along with no 24-hour cooldown for Verdle creation. We do not control and are not responsible for the content of third-party ads or linked websites. You acknowledge that your use of the free tier constitutes acceptance of viewing third-party advertisements.

8. User Conduct

By using Verdle, you agree not to:

• Post hateful, offensive, or unlawful content
• Infringe on copyrights, trademarks, or other rights
• Attempt to interfere with the platform’s operation

You grant Jedcal LLC a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and distribute any verdle puzzles you submit.

9. Intellectual Property

All site code, design, and branding are owned by Jedcal LLC. You may not reproduce or redistribute any part of the service without our permission.

10. Limitation of Liability

Verdle is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Jedcal LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

11. Termination and Account Deletion

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.

Account Deletion: To request deletion of your account, email us at playverdle@gmail.com with "Account Deletion Request" in the subject line. We will process your request within 30 days. Upon deletion:

• All your personal data will be permanently deleted
• Your Verdles and scores will be removed
• Active subscriptions will be cancelled without refund
• This action cannot be undone

You have the right to request account deletion at any time in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Significant changes will be posted on this page, and continued use means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA.
